What Is Hashing Algorithm ?

Hashing algorithm via mathematical computer operation to generate random text from a password uses very little time and energy while reversing that process by taking the random text and find the password would take a tremendous amount of time and energy. Hashing algorithm is used to scramble password in internet applications before it is being sent over the wire to store in a central database so even a banking provider would not know their customer password.

Hashing algorithms being used widely around the internets are SHA-2, SHA-3 with SHA stands for Secured Hashing Algorithm. SHA is designed by United States National Security Agency - NSA.
