RTSP IP camera uses h264 and h265 as its video encoding to maximize frame rate between the cameras and the clients.
h265 is the newer version of h264, offering 25-50% better data compression than h264 but not supported on all available hardware yet. Samsung Electrics and GE hold most patents for the h265 standard while many h264 will be expired in next 10 years.
